For many years, researchers have claimed the positive impact certain foods can have on joint inflammation and pain.
However to reap the benefits you must know that it isn't a diet, it's a healthy lifestyle. That means a permanent healthy balanced diet, with the inclusion of certain foods that have been identified to help fight pain and inflammation of joints.
The idea of a healthy lifestyle, can sometimes scare people, most probably because of the negative presumptions associated with heathy foods. Most people presume a healthy lifestyle means boring and bland food consumption.
We want to show you that this doesn't have to be the case!
So, below we have included a recipe, made up of ingredients which have been claimed as "super foods" for joint and inflammation pain. Not only is this a super heathy recipe, its easy to follow, and can be turn't into an afternoon of family fun.
Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Food Processor or Grater
Lightly greased parchment paper or a pizza pan
Preheat oven to 220 degrees.
Marinate the diced chicken in the turmeric, cover and place in refrigerator.
Remove the stems from the cauliflower and cut into chunks, Place the cauliflower into a food processor and pulse it until it resembles the texture of rice. If you don't have a food processor, you can use a cheese grater or chop it very finely.
Microwave the processed cauliflower uncovered in a microwave safe bowl for approximately 4-5 minutes on high. Remove it from the microwave and allow it to cool for at least 4-5 minutes (trust me don't rush this step!). After the cauliflower is slightly cooled, place it in a kitchen towel and squeeze all the liquid out of it. Be sure to squeeze as much liquid as humanly possible.
Combine the cooked cauliflower, egg, garlic, cheese, and seasonings. Stir until a dough texture forms. Spread the cauliflower mixture out onto lightly greased parchment paper or a pizza pan in the shape of a pizza crust.
Bake the crust for approximately 10-15 minutes (depending on your oven), or until the crust is golden and crispy.
During this time, heat the pan over medium-high heat. When it is quite hot, add the olive oil. Swirl the pan so it is lightly covered with the olive oil. Cook the chicken breasts until slightly golden. Make sure you ensure the chicken is cooked throughly.
After the crust is golden remove it from the oven and top with pizza sauce then cheese then add the cooked chicken and chopped veggies.
Place the pizza back in the oven and bake for another 12-15 minutes.
*Toppings can be changed to suit your preferences easily. Simply change what topping you wish to add at step 8.
